ANNA de BASALDUA, MMus (Perf), BMus (Hons), BPAM
Anna is a London based piano teacher. She has taught piano in a school, privately and in adult education, in London and in Paris, at the Conservatoire de Courbevoie and the École de musique de Rueil-Malmaison. In her native Spain, at the Conservatorio de Toledo, Juventudes Musicales de Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) and Centro de estudios musicales, in Bilbao. Her first piano student was film producer's Bernardo Bertolucci's son, Ugo, when she was 18 and studying piano in Rome and at the Accademia Chigiana, in Siena, (Tuscany), with Guido Agosti.
Anna studied at the Conservatorio J. C. de Arriaga, in Bilbao, where she obtained a Piano Teacher's Diploma with first class honors and later at the École Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot, with France Clidat. Alberto Neuman, (a pupil of Michelangeli), was her mentor in Paris. She was also a pupil of Pierre Sancan at the Salle Pleyel, in Paris and at the Academie Internationale d' Été, in Nice. Anna went to Moscow to study with pianist E. G. Ginsburg. She gained a Masters (Perf), a Bachelor of Music (Hons) and a Licenciateship in Pianoforte from West London University, where she obtained the Raphael Terroni Piano Prize and a Music Medicine Therapy Diploma (British Performing Arts Medicine Trust), in 2004. Maria Curcio, Jill Crossland and Andrew Zolinsky were her mentors in London.
Anna has performed at the Salle M. Ravel, in Paris, the Festival du Pays de Caux, in Normandy, the Sociedad Filarmónica and the Biblioteca Bidebarrieta (organised by the French Insitute), in Bilbao, the Fundación Juan March, the Sociedad del Real Ateneo and La Cúpula, in Madrid, the Teatro Salón Cervantes and La Caixa, in Alcalá de Henares. In Italy at the Festivale di Arenzano and the Castello Sforzesco for the Milan Expo 2015. In London she has given concerts at the Westmisnter Music Library, St George Hanover Square, St Olave's, St Bride's Fleet Street, St Anne's Kew, St John's Notting Hill, St Michael and All Angels Chiswick and St Etheldreda's Fulham, mostly for charities.
Anna has worked with autistic children. She attended a course at the University of Alcalá de Henares (Spain),'teaching music to children with special needs' and a music therapy workshop at the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Centre, in London. Anna has done the Dalcroze training course at the RNCM, in Manchester.
Anna uses powerful NLP and EFT (emotional freedom technique) tools in her teaching to deal with exam and concert preparation. Anna did her Neuro-Linguistic Programming training with Richard Bandler, co-founder of NLP. Anna has done a parachute jump, the Adidas 5K Run and 2 treks (Indian Himalayas and Machu Picchu) to raise money for charities. She has published short stories in Spanish. Anna is fluent in 5 languages (Spanish, French, Italian, German and English) speaks a little Russian and understands Portuguese.
